Describe Yourself:The main philosophy that has taken shape in my life in regards to life amoung humans, is that there is no real "answer" per se; but the key is in balance and moderation. Zen-Buddhism says it all: we need a balance of Light & Darkness, Joy & Sorrow, blah & blah, yadda & yadda, etcetera, etcetera.
It just could be that if we as individuals could find this lost chord of Yin-Yang (which resonates in all world religions) and practice it, we can, at the very least, achieve world peace, if only in our own little worlds of family, friends and others that are in orbit around us. (yes, even strangers).
I've been the lead singer in various rock bands through the years. In '99 I had a record deal (the cd was called "Soul Graffiti" by The Dan Tucker Band aka Dan Tucker and His Band of Hairy Men; was on a Toronto-based nationally broadcast TV program, and started on a Canada-wide tour. But due to chronic health problems, I had to get off the road. It was hard to quit, since I was the leader of the band and the songwriter, which meant the band couldn't go on.
I wrote poems and prose since I was a teen-ager and was published in various magazines and newspapers, etc. through the years, so I fell back on that. I got a book of my poems and other writings w/ illustrations published in late 2005. I wrote a book of prose that I'm trying to get traditionally published. It's about re-defining who you are in this ever-so-dehumanizing world we live in. It's hard to find a publisher who wants to take you on when you're not too well physically ( to tour). I still write songs and record at home. This at least softens the blow and gives meaning to my life. I'm currently re-recording parts of my first cd and will do a remix. You see, when the record biz gets a hold of your music, they are in control. This time around I'm doing an album the way I played live; the way fans liked it. I'm also recording a new album. I'll make an announcement when I'm done mixing the first CD.
To sum up how I've dealt with the above mentioned health issues, here's an excerpt from a poem of mine, titled, Phantom Pain: " . . . Isolation a shining steel blade cutting deep into the heart of hearts. Nothing lives after amputation. Depending on emotional prosthetics-- phantom pain when nothing is there. Taking the hand of trust and grace. Hope building a fortress for dreams. Set boundaries better than no control at all." -

Hi Daniel. How was your fourth? It's only an hour later, I know. Fireworks were great where I went. Did you get the group email I sent? It included links to all the featured articles, there were 13 of them, and links to 14 other articles of interest, all posted to our happy little Fugitives group.
There was also a paragraph which consisted almost entirely of my pleas for two members to step up to the plate and volunteer ten to fifteen minutes of your week to help moderate what has become a massively active and participant group. Please consider doing everyone a favor and if you're interested, send me a private message.

Hi Daniel, Not to over-ping you, I just wanted you to know I read your poem "The Machine or The Jaws of the Great Legal Metallic Corpse" and I loved it. Please go there if you wish to see my comment. Oh, and sorry I forgot you are Canadian so you don't celebrate the 4th like we in the United States do, I hope you will help us celebrate it though. Chana

I couldn't find one for the 4th of July so pretend that one of them is playing a fife, one of them is playing a drum and the other one is holding a flag. Have a safe and happy 4th of July!
Thanks Daniel!
